PEACHTREE STRING QUARTET | HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY CONCERT

We proudly present Christopher Pulgram and his PEACHTREE STRING QUARTET in concert on Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27, 2023. Christopher Pulgram, who is also the first violinist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, will perform works by Franz Schubert, Gideon Klein and Johannes Brahms with Yang-Yoon Kim (viola), Elizabeth Pridgen (piano) and Thomas Carpenter (cello).

Christopher Pulgram is the son of William Leopold Pulgram, who was an internationally renowned archictect and a music lover. William Leopold Pulgram was forced to flee Austria in 1939, ultimately settling in the U.S.

Gideon Klein was a talented young Czech composer who completed his last work, String Trio, while interned at Terezin (Theresienstadt) concentration camp in 1944. From Terezin he was sent to Auschwitz and later Fürstengrube, and was killed in January 1945. His works composed in Terezin were placed with a friend for safekeeping before his deportation to Auschwitz, and given to his sister after the war.

The music performance will be followed by a conversation between Johannes Aigner, Director of the ACF DC, and Christopher Pulgram. Event to conclude with a wine reception.
