The ACF Washington and Forum Theatre present the first performance of this American translation of Surfacing (Auftauchen) as a part of International Women’s Voices Day, sponsored by National New Play Network and the New Play Exchange®, as a part of the 2018 Women’s Voices Theater Festival. Join us for this staged reading of "Surfacing" written by Julya Rabinowich, one of Austria’s most exciting female playwrights.
A unique play about our invisible people – alive, yet not present in everyday life: a mother seeking asylum, a young man hiding from blood-revenge, a young woman kidnapped and locked up in a basement. This powerful play captures loneliness and hope though voices that beenignored for too long.
