The sound of the late Classical and early Romantic era followed by some vibrant youthful sounds from Austria. It seemed like pianist Hanna Bachmann and mezzo-soprano Isabel Pfefferkorn have found their perfect match on stage as they performed their music.
The two artists also performed at the lunch concert series of the National Gallery of Art on May 15, at 12.10pm. This program was presented in collaboration with the EU Delegation and celebrated the European Month of Culture.
The two musicians from Austria presented “Desert Scream/Wüstenschrei”, which is Isabel Pfefferkorn’s own composition, and highlighted Austria’s new and contemporary music. The second music piece was their interpretation of “Winter Journey/Winterreise” from the well-known composer Franz Schubert.
The ACF Washington was enlightened to be part of their tour through various American and Canadian cities. In case you missed our event, listen to their great interpretation of “Epheu” by Richard Strauss.
