The ACF Washington presented the concert by pianist Maria Prinz and clarinetist Reinhard Wieser, who payed tribute to the recently deceased American music legend André Previn, as well as to the Austrian composer Alfred Prinz, who died in 2014. The program featured works by Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann, two household names in the classical music world.

Hailed as "brilliant" and "deeply sensitive", pianist Maria Prinz is widely in demand as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Ms. Prinz has performed with leading orchestras throughout Europe, including several performances with the Vienna Philharmonic, collaborating with renowned conductors Sir Neville Marriner, Seiji Ozawa and Riccardo Muti at the Salzburg Festival. As a recitalist, Ms. Prinz has concertized in the U.S., Japan, Australia, New Zealand and most European countries. She has performed at leading venues and festivals around the world, including the Salzburg Festival, Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo (Japan) and in Vienna's Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Barbican Centre in London and in Tokyo's Bunka Kaikan. Her chamber music collaborations include numerous performances with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, international artists, such as Andrew Marriner, Patrick Gallois, Philippe Pierlot and world- famous singers Ludovic Tézier, Krassimira Stoyanova and Matthias Goerne. In addition to her performing career, Ms. Prinz has taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna since 1987.
Reinhard Wieser | clarinet

Reinhard Wieser studied with Alfred Prinz of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. He took over the position of Principal Clarinet of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the age of nineteen, which he holds since then. In addition, he has worked as a soloist with renowned conductors including Claus Peter Flor, Fabio Luisi Johannes Wildner, Miguel Á. Gómez Martínez, Oleg Caetani, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Bertrand de Billy, Yakov Kreizberg and Georges Prětre. Reinhard Wieser plays chamber music with the Wiener Kammermusiker, the Johann Strauss Ensemble of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra as well as with renowned artists including Renaud Capucon and Philippe Jordan, the current chief conductor of the VSO. Various projects have included colleagues like Rainer Honeck, Thomas Christian, Maria Prinz, Jasminka Stancul and Christopher Hinterhuber. Since 1996 Reinhard Wieser has had his own class as a Professor at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. He has held master classes in Austria, Germany, Spain, Malta, Venezuela, Japan and the United States (Bloomington Jacobs School of Music, Michigan State University).
