EuroAsia Shorts 2022: Austria & Indonesia

About the Festival

Join the international cinematic dialogue that is uniquely Washingtonian as we celebrate 16 years of EuroAsia Shorts (EAS)! This film festival presents a selection of short films from Europe, Asia, and the United States screened at embassies and cultural centers throughout Washington, D.C.

Both online and in-person screening events are available free to viewers across the United States June 9 – 17. The traditional country-pairing-programs will take place June 9 – 16, the in-person closing program will be hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute Friday, June 17

The theme for EuroAsia Shorts 2022 is The Art of Life. Life, like progress, definitely does not proceed in a straight line. The never-ending challenge of balancing, enjoying, and dealing with life is an art form, both universal and futile in our attempts to master it. There is no perfect path, partner, or recipe, and yet we seek and celebrate them in life just the same, against all odds and no matter the hardship. This year’s EuroAsia Shorts is about the inseparability of the good, the bad, and the ugly in life, and how every life lived well can be its own masterpiece.

A complete overview of the program is available on the EuroAsia Shorts website.
