In the coming years the ACF Washington will work on the correlation of art and culture with human rights, how art can or cannot address pertinent political and social questions that we are dealing with on a daily basis and if such an approach can make the whole concept of human rights, often seen purely as a matter of international lawyers and activists, more accessible to the public as a whole.

2018 will be a year of commemoration and remembrance for Austria related to historical events of 1848, 1918, 1938, 1948 and 1968. Many of these anniversaries will be reflected in our cultural program throughout the year.

One of our central pillars at the ACF Washington is the particular promotion and presentation of female artists, be it through inviting Austrian artists to present their work at the premises of the ACF Washington or through participating at different cultural festivals and events in the DC metro area
